The General Assembly of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Jordan and the Holy Land met on Friday with 38 members in attendance. The Assembly approved the administrative and financial report presented by Reverend Shahatit.

In addition to Reverend Shahatit’s re-election, the following members were elected to the Union Church’s Executive Committee:

Reverend Bashar Nimat – Vice President – ​​Pastor of the Seventh Circle Church
Reverend Yoel Ma’ayeh – Treasurer – Pastor of the Madaba Church
Mr. Karim Qandah – Secretary
Reverend Yazan Fakhoury – Assistant Pastor of the Second Circle Church
Reverend Hassan Dababneh – Pastor of the Marj Al-Hamam Church
Mr. Amer Fakhoury
Mr. Hussam Ismir
The General Assembly also approved the recommendation of the Church in Palestine to appoint Reverend Dr. Jack Sara as the representative of the churches in the Holy Land.

During the session, administrative and financial reports were presented for the local churches, along with a report on the Church-owned Alliance Academy Jordan. This report was presented by the chair of the school’s advisory board, Daniel Sharaiha. The general assembly members commended the academy and its director, Salam Madanat, for their academic achievements, spiritual focus, and financial progress.

In an exclusive interview with Milhilard.org, the newly elected president stated that he would focus on three main areas. “The executive committee will work on amending and developing the church’s bylaws to align with the church’s needs. We will also work on preparing leaders and ordaining young pastors, and conduct a thorough review of the financial situation to ensure the church’s resources are distributed appropriately and equitably.”.
