In celebration of His Majesty King Abdullah II’s birthday, the Bible Society of Jordan organized a visit to the maternity and prematurity departments of several hospitals across the Kingdom. The initiative, in which the Secretary General of the Bible Society Munther Nemat, participated, included the distribution of hundreds of parcels to families of newborn babies, including baby formula and winter warmers.

The Secretary-General, accompanied by a team from the Society met with the directors of hospitals in the Al-Ghor Al-Safi area, where the Southern Jordan Valley Brigade Governor Abdul Fattah Al-Sharafa was present, as well as the General Director of Al-Safi Hospital and a number of dignitaries and residents of the area. After a number of speeches that expressed joy on this occasion dear to the hearts of all Jordanians and renewed loyalty and belonging to His Majesty, coupled with prayers for His Majesty, the Crown Prince and the Hashemite family.

The campaign continued in several hospitals in other parts of the Kingdom, including Ghor Al Mazraa, Salt City, Deir Ala, and the Italian Hospital in downtown Amman.

Munther Nemat, Secretary-General of theBible Society, expressed his delight in the initiative, especially on the auspicious occasion that coincided with it. “This initiative and celebration comes as a reflection of the feelings of loyalty and belonging to His Majesty King Abdullah II, and to bring joy and happiness to the hearts of mothers and their families on this special occasion,” Nemat said.

The ceremony emphasized the national and humanitarian values that His Majesty establishes in Jordanian society. It is worth mentioning that the Bible Society began its work in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the early 1970s and is a member of the World Federation of Bible Societies, which is spread in more than 240 countries and regions around the world, with its headquarters in the United Kingdom.
