Happy Thanksgiving,

We all have so much to be thankful for. Palestinian Christians are going through a grim time, and we know that you have always shown a special heart to your fellow Christians in the Holy Land.

This is an unusual appeal. We are asking that you support our media efforts that are intended to encourage and strengthen the resilience of Christians in the Holy Land as well as inform the world of the challenges that they are facing.

Hi. I am Daoud Kuttab, publisher of a special website dedicated to the welfare of Christians in Palestine and Jordan. Our name is based on the widely used terms in our community for Christians. The disciple Mathew mentions in the Gospels the people of God as being the “Salt of the Earth.” That is the name of our magazine using the Arab term Milhilard. Our goal this year is to train at least 20 Palestinian Christians in basic journalistic skills and pay them a simple stipend every time we publish their works.

Milhilard.org covers a variety of topics from attacks on religious leaders in Jerusalem to the inauguration of a new clinic in Gaza by the Middle East Council of Churches to the need for equality between genders in inheritance distribution and the need to remove obstacles for Christian couples to adopt.

Naturally, we have been covering the situation in Gaza and the West Bank and we have made a special effort to speak to families of Palestinian Christian prisoners many of their sons and daughters are held in Israeli jail without charge or trial.

Will you chip in $5 or 10 dollars or whatever you are led to give to help our effort in training and writing? This will not only empower our tiny but vibrant Christian community in both Palestine and Jordan, but this project will help put some money in the pockets of our young people many of whom have no other source of income. Our goal is to raise $35,000 this holiday season. Will you be part of the campaign to ensure that the Holy Land is thriving with living stones and not just churches and holy sites that resemble a museum with no living believers filling the pews and worshiping the Lord?
