In a joyous celebration, Saturday, the Alliance Academy Jordan, affiliated with the Alliance Evangelical Church, announced that it has successfully obtained accreditation for the American diploma program, making it the first Christian school in Jordan to adopt this program, which is accredited by International Accreditation (AI) and the Jordanian Ministry of Education.

Salam Madanat, the General Director of the Academy, expressed her pride in this achievement, which coincided with the announcement of student Celine Nasrawi obtaining the highest score in the world in the subject of mathematics in the British AS international exam. Madanat also welcomed the remarkable result of student Saba Hijazin, who has a disability and achieved a score of 90.8 in the British IGCSE international exams.
Madanat said that the academy’s journey began in 2014, and it is considered one of the leading schools in Jordan in inclusive education. In 2018, the academy organized the first-of-its-kind conference on inclusive education in Jordan under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mired bin Ra’ad. In 2024, the academy graduated its first class of students under the patronage of the Minister of Education, and in 2025, the American diploma AHSD was accredited, and the development journey of the academy continues.

In a detailed explanation of the achievements, the school principal, Jumana Akkawi, said that the idea of introducing the American high school diploma came after a thorough study and aimed at providing options for students in the secondary stage, where the academy offers the choice between the British and American systems, “for students according to their needs and capabilities and the best system for the equivalency of the certificate with the Ministry of Education.” Akkawi detailed the extensive preparations that were required in the application process for accreditation. “The process took many months, and the pleasant surprise was that the audit delegation, which came from several countries, was impressed by the school’s achievements. The question of the accreditation auditors after meeting with the administration, students, teachers,
and parents revolved around one question: “What is your secret? In terms of cohesion, quality, excellent educational environment, and the love of students and parents for this school.”

In response to a question about student achievements, Akkawi explained that after coordination with the British Council supervising the exams, they agreed that Saba, who suffers from cerebral palsy, could take the exam via computer, and this was the first time such an arrangement was made for a student in Jordan to take the exam using a laptop. She also explained the support system provided by the academy to all students within the inclusive education system, stressing that the support and assistance service is not limited to the 10% of students with disabilities and challenges but includes all students according to their needs.

Celine Nasrawi: Joy and Pride
In an exclusive interview for Milhilard.org, student Celine Nasrawi and her parents expressed her pride and joy in earning this distinction: “My feeling is not a temporary joy and pride, but it is pride and honor for my efforts and the efforts of the entire educational staff. They always teach us that a person reaps what they sow, and now all the efforts I put into my studies have paid off, and I received the award. Despite not liking mathematics, my ambition since childhood to become a pilot drove me to study and understand these calculations and to make everything I study have a reason and motivation to achieve my ambition.”
Celine also pointed out that the comfortable environment in the school encourages her to continue her intensive studies and that she is not afraid to ask her teachers any questions. She also praised her parents’ role in supporting her to earn the award.

Celine’s father affirmed his pride in his daughter, saying: “It is common for parents to encourage their children to study, but with Celine, we were encouraging her to take breaks as she studies all the time. We provided everything we could for her to achieve her goal.” When we asked Celine’s mother about her opinion of the school, she said: “The academy is new, but it is distinguished by its staff and administration. We noticed the progress our children
made in it, and the truth is that the academy proved its merit in education, and here is the result in our hands, Celine’s excellence along with many other students.”

Saba Hijazin received 90.8 on his externals

In an exclusive interview with Milhilard.org, student Saba Hijazin commented on his achievement through the computer, saying: “When a person is with God, God is with them.”
