The Washington-based Nonviolence International held a unique debate, on June 28th between the two brothers, lawyer Jonathan Kuttab and his brother, journalist Daoud Kuttab, about the future of the Palestinian issue. The focus of the debate was the preference for political solutions.

While lawyer Jonathan called for the need to stop talking about the two-state solution and move towards the idea of ​​a one-state solution and equal rights for all, his brother, journalist Daoud Kuttab, responded by defending the importance of establishing a Palestinian state, even for one day. Then the sovereign Palestinian people can decide the future. The state is in an alliance or confederation with any other neighboring state.
The symposium attempted to answer the following questions:

• What is the reality of the liberation movement in Palestine now?
• What is the future of the Palestinian political leadership?
• Is there a solution to end the occupation and what does the solution look like?
