
Previous ِAustralian nurse loved by Jordanians and others laid to rest in Mafraq
The Bible Society in Jordan hosted the visit of a delegation from the Jordan Evangelical Council on Thursday. A frank discussion took place, and it was agreed to continue holding meetings for the common good. Both parties expressed the importance of the meeting and the spirit of cooperation and partnership that prevailed during the honest dialogue.
Secretary General of the Bible Society, Munther Nemat, said that the meeting included a constructive dialogue on ways to enhance future cooperation between the Bible Society, the Evangelical Council, and its affiliated churches, serving churches, believers, and Jordanian society.
Retired Major General Imad Maayah, President of the Jordan Evangelical Council, expressed his pride in the work of the Bible Society and praised the fruitful and informative meeting regarding the Society’s activities.
“The meeting was enjoyable and fruitful, as we agreed to reactivate our relationship with the home of all Christians – the Bible Society – and to actively participate in supporting all levels of the Society’s work. We also encourage our members to become involved in the Society by running for the General Assembly and volunteering as supporters, in addition to encouraging all our churches to participate in the services and programs of the Bible Society, of which we are proud.”
President Imad Ma’ayah invited the Secretary General, members of the Board of Directors, and the Society’s team to visit the Evangelical Council or one of its churches to continue exchanging views and embody effective cooperation.
During the meeting, the services provided by the Bible Society were reviewed, including publishing, distribution, translation, and spiritual programs for children and youth. The guests also shared highlights from the history of the Bible |Society since its inception in Jordan and the role it has played in serving the church and society over the past years.
The meeting was attended by members of the Evangelical Council, in addition to President Ma’ayah, Pastors Waleed Madanat, Samuel Abu Jaber, Mo’tasem Dababneh, Shadi Baqa’in, George Zananiri, Yousef Hashweh, Attorney Khaldoun Salaita, and Engineer Khaled Halsa. The Bible Society’s directors and employees also briefed the guests on their various activities.
The delegation also toured the bookshop, located on Rainbow Street, one of the most prominent centers specializing in biblical sources and Christian books. It houses more than 2,000 titles, along with multiple translations of the Bible in more than 30 languages, reflecting the breadth and comprehensiveness of the ل Bible Society’s mission.

من مبادئنا حرية التعبير للعلمانيين بصورة تكميلية لرأي الإكليروس الذي نحترمه. كما نؤيد بدون خجل الدعوة الكتابية للمساواة في أمور هامة مثل الإرث للمسيحيين وأهمية التوعية وتقديم النصح للمقبلين على الزواج وندعم العمل الاجتماعي ونشطاء المجتمع المدني المسيحيين و نحاول أن نسلط الضوء على قصص النجاح غير ناسيين من هم بحاجة للمساعدة الإنسانية والصحية والنفسية وغيرها.
والسبيل الوحيد للخروج من هذا الوضع هو بالتواصل والنقاش الحر، حول هويّاتنا وحول التغييرات التي نريدها في مجتمعاتنا، من أجل أن نفهم بشكل أفضل القوى التي تؤثّر في مجتمعاتنا،.
